Slavimir Futro is a graphic designer, visual artist, writer, professor and rapper. His projects won numerous international awards and have been featured in major design magazines, books, catalogues, galleries and museums.
Futro's client portfolio spans from large international corporations and cultural institutions to small companies and startups.
He began his career as an illustrator drawing caricatures and comic strips. Impressively, his first client poster was printed and published in 1985, when he was just 16 years old.
Futro studied in Belgrade, Serbia and in Gotheborg, Sweden. Following his studies, he gained a decade of advertising experience, advancing from intern to Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Balkans in Belgrade, and in Kompas Design and Arih Advertising in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
In 2003, Futro established his own design studio.
By 2012, he launched Futro, a lifestyle brand, that has since expanded to a network of three stores and a web-shop.
In 2023, after five years as a professor and Head of the Graphic Design Department at the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade, Futro moved into teaching visual communications through his own educational platform Futro Masterclass.
Writing has been a lifelong passion for Futro and he frequently generates brand names, slogans and campaigns for his clients. His autobiographical novel, Nine, became an instant bestseller in 2018.
He also wrote and illustrated two award-winning children’s books creating The Adventures of Singi Lumba series, which have been adapted into a play at the Duško Radović Children’s Theatre in Belgrade.
Futro is a TEDx speaker, guest professor at the School of Visual Arts in New York and a regular motivational lecturer at conferences, festivals and workshops.
He resides in Belgrade with his wife, Olja, a Certified Queen of the Universe managing corporate culture and their daughter, Nadja, a World Champion in Contemporary Dance.
Futro’s first rap album Good morning is set to release in late 2024.
